Queensryche Drummer Provides Live Drum Tracks For 'Call of Duty: Black Ops'

If you're among the legions of video game fanatics who purchased developer Treyarch's Call Of Duty: Black Ops (Activision Publishing, Inc.) last week, you'll no doubt hear the heart-thumping drum beat provided by Queensryche drummer Scott Rockenfield during the intense game playing experience. The most anticipated video game in history, Call Of Duty: Black Ops set a new five-day sales record with an estimated take of approximately $650 million worldwide.

Times of Grace Frontman Dissects 'Celebrity' In Latest 'Check Your Head' Blog

Times of Grace frontman Jesse Leach returns with another installment of his Gun Shy Assassin blog "Check Your Head." This week, the multi-talented vocalist is looking at the notion of 'celebrity' and examining the universal obsession with fame. 

Writes Leach, "Over the past few weeks I have been doing phone interviews and press all around the world. Not only have I been able to talk about the record of my career The Hymn of a Broken Man but I have had great discussions and conversations, 'off the record' as well. It always strikes me when people say to me, 'Wow, you are a real down-to-Earth guy.' It begs the question: How many musicians out there are not? For the record, I do not own a television (I have not for years), I don’t pay attention to mainstream news, gossip and celebrity magazines, newspapers, etc. However, as of late, I have been rather intrigued by entertainers and celebrities, and the lives they lead, as well as people who are fanatics versus people who simply just 'support' artists. It seems to me in our society (especially here in the U.S.), we take all privacy away from people and put them on these unrealistic pedestals. How do fans help solidify and perpetuate this 'celebrity status?'"

My Darkest Days Break Into the Pop Charts With "Porn Star Dancing"

Nothing like in your face sexuality to draw attention. It also doesn't hurt to have production and promotion assistance from Nickelback's Chad Kroeger. Fortunately, in terms of heavy, melodic rock, My Darkest Days deliver the goods here. Despite the title, the song's lyrics are not particularly lewd. Like Nickelback, My Darkest Days are Canadian. Chad Kroeger himself makes a guest appearance on the song and in the video. Ludacris is here with a guest rap as well. "Porn Star Dancing" has made it all the way to #1 at mainstream rock radio, and it has spent the last month in the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100 garnering pop attention. Beyonce's Mom Says Daughter's Style Has Always Been 'Edgy'

'It's just a result of her constantly evolving,' Tina Knowles says of the fashion in Beyonce's "I Am ... World Tour" DVD concert special.

Beyoncé has never been shy about hitting the stage in stunning costumes. Her appearance has always been a mixture of showgirl sparkle and pop star razzle-dazzle. And her style is on full display in her new DVD concert special, "I Am ... World Tour."

Her mom and stylist, Tina Knowles, said that while the looks may seem a bit edgier than what fans have seen from the singer in the past, she thinks that her superstar daughter has always been ahead of the style curve.

"Well, the wonderful Thierry Mugler designed the costumes, and I actually worked on some of the dancers and the band, and it was just amazing to work with him because he is so creative," Knowles told MTV News at a New York screening of the special. "So it's just a result of her constantly evolving, but she's been edgy. It's funny for people to say she went more edgy, but she's been wearing body suits and that type of thing."

And while Knowles may act as her daughter's stylist and costume designer, she says that Bey's style decisions are all her own. "Well, we discussed her working with Thierry Mugler, and I'm the biggest fan. And so she had seen some of the fashions and she loved it," she said. "So we always discuss things, but it's her decision, it's her career."

Beyoncé, who also directed the concert special , said it gave her a better understanding of the filmmaking process. "It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it. ... Well, I've done some co-directing for music videos [but] this was definitely a big step for me, and I'm so thrilled."

Chrisette Michele Raves About Rick Ross Reunion On 'So In Love'

'Aston Martin Music' MC returns the favor on Michele's just-released album, Let Freedom Reign.

Chrisette Michele rocketed to the top of the charts in 2009 with her album Epiphany. In 2010, she beefed up her hip-hop cred by appearing on Rick Ross' "Aston Martin Music." Now, the rapper is returning the favor by making a cameo on her just-released album, Let Freedom Reign.

"It was something I was playing around with, [and I] put it together," she told MTV News about her latest collaboration with the MC, "So in Love." "And when it was all done, I said, 'Ross, can you drop a verse?' He did, and now he's a lovebird."

The smooth love jam is a follow-up to the big-pimpin' track they released over the summer. But this time the duo aren't singing about their love of a certain high-end luxury car; they are talking all about romance. "He's a really nice guy," she said of Ross' tough exterior, before adding that working with the rapper has been quite the change of pace. "I'm just a regular suburbia girl from Long Island. I happened to get onto a hip-hop record, and the response is crazy."

Michele was very involved in the whole album, including the Ne-Yo-penned, Chuck Harmony-produced lead single "I'm a Star." "I was the co-executive producer on it, and I wrote nine of the 10 songs," she said. "So I feel really, really a part of it."
