It would seem easy to dismiss the return of Jennifer Lopez to the upper reaches of the pop charts as an artifact of her new gig as American Idol judge. However, that would be ignoring that her new single "On the Floor" is one of the most effortlessly crowd pleasing songs of her career. Last night she debuted the accompanying music video on American Idol, and it maintains the mainstream pop-dance quality of the song. We even get to see her shake the famous Jennifer Lopez backside. TAJ Stansberry directed the clip, and it is not a stunning artistic achievement, but it's a solid visual accompaniment to the song. Meanwhile, "On the Floor" remains firm at #2 in iTunes sales just behind Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," and it is slowly climbing pop radio airplay inside the top 40.
