Carly Rae Jepsen Sets a Chart Milestone For Canadian Artists With "Call Me Maybe"

Carly Rae Jepsen's breakout hit "Call Me Maybe" is entering the pop chart record books. As the song logs its seventh week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, it becomes the longest reigning #1 ever by a female Canadian solo artist. Three other songs by female artists spent six weeks at the top. They are "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado featuring Timbaland and two Celine Dion songs, "Because You Loved Me" and "I'm Your Angel" featuring R. Kelly. Among all Canadian artists Carly Rae Jepsen moves into a tie with Snow's "Informer" Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)." She has a big hill to climb to take the all-time title. Canada's Percy Faith holds that record spending nine weeks at #1 back in 1960 with "The Theme From A Summer Place."
