Pop Classics Purple Rain, "Cat's In the Cradle," and "The Letter" Added To Grammy Hall of Fame

The Grammy Hall of Fame has announced its list of new inductees for 2010. The Hall of Fame is made up now of 881 recordings that are at least 25 years old and deemed of lasting qualitative and/or historical significance. This year 30 new recordings were added and a number of pop classics among them. Grammy CEO and President Neil Portnow says, "These musical treasures have brought us timeless recordings, and each of them deserves to be memorialized. These recordings are living evidence that music remains an indelible part of our culture." A special member committee suggests new inductees each year, and that list is then approved by the Recording Academy Board of Trustees. Key pop additions this year are listed below.
