This is the type of Glee performance that turns into a chart hit. Next week's episode will feature a friendly "mash-off" between New Directions and the new all-girl rival the Troubletones. The performance clip of the Troubletones mashing up Adele's "Rumour Has It" with the #1 hit "Someone Like You" is powerful. The northern soul beat is hypnotic and these girls can belt out the song. Adele's sound remains ubiquitous across nearly all radio formats, so the music is instantly familiar. However, the impact of "Someone Like You's" words of anguish over chanting of, "Rumour has it!" is difficult to describe without watching.
