Little Mix Are First Group To Win X Factor UK

It was a long road through an X Factor UK season filled with strife and controversies, but the ultimate winner was a girl group that exuded straightforward charm and unquestioned vocal talent. All of the members of Little Mix first auditioned for X Factor as solo performers. They failed in the first round of bootcamp and were initially put into two separate groups. Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson were part of the group Faux Pas. Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall were addded to the group Orion. Neither of those groups made it to the judges' houses round but the two members of each group were extracted and melded together into an act called Rhythmix. After a children's charity of the same name cried foul, the group's name became Little Mix. All of that very long road was left behind when Little Mix were announced Sunday night as the first group to win X Factor UK in eight seasons. They defeated runner up Marcus Collins after Amelia Lily was eliminated on Saturday. Little Mix did not finish first in audience voting until the seventh week of competition. However, they took solid control for the last two weeks.
