Nominations for the 56th annual Ivor Novello Awards, which honor achievement in the UK in songwriting, have been announced. Rapper / soul singer Plan B is among the artists leading the way with two nominations. He takes nods in both the Album and Most Performed Song categories. British alt rock band Everything Everything earned nods for Best Song and Album. Several additional awards including Songwriter of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to British Music will be presented without a separate list of nominations. The awards will be presented May 19, 2011 at London's Grosvenor House. Major nominations are listed below.
