The X Factor's UK network ITV has confimed that Simon Cowell will not be a judge when the show resumes in the UK this fall. He will only serve as a judge on the new US version on the Fox network. ITV said Simon Cowell would continue to remain an "enormous presence backstage." The new season of X Factor in the UK would typically be expected to begin in August while the US X Factor is set to start in September. Much press speculation also indicates that Cheryl Cole may bolt for the US as well. That would leave half of the UK judging panel to be released. Among the names floating as possible replacements are Lily Allen, Gary Barlow of Take That, Melanie B of the Spice Girls, and Ozzy Osbourne.
