Billboard Launches On-Demand Streaming Songs Chart and Adds Data To Hot 100

In cooperation with digitalmusic.org, Billboard is launching the first ever comprehensive streaming songs chart titled On Demand Songs. The new chart will incorporate data from MOG, Muve Music, Rdio, Rhapsody, Slacker, and Spotify. Zune and Sony Music Unlimited are expected to be added in a few weeks. Data collected for the new chart will also be incorporated into the formula that produces the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This means the Hot 100 will now utilize a combination of sales, radio airplay, and streaming data to put together the chart. The new data does have an impact on the placement of a number of songs this week on the Hot 100 but fun.'s big hit "We Are Young" leads both charts. The On Demand Songs chart makes its official debut tomorrow when all of Billboard's charts for the week are released.
