68 year old Mick Jagger, lead vocalist of the Rolling Stones, has previously performed as musical guest on Saturday Night Live, but he has never been the host. He will host the May 19, 2012 season finale. His appearance will also honor the 50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones, one of the most successful pop-rock bands of all time. Mick Jagger has recently performed as part of the supergroup SuperHeavy along with Joss Stone and Damian Marley. He also made an appearance on will.i.am's single "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)." Every Rolling Stones studio album released in the US since their second 12 x 5 in 1964 has hit the top 10 on the album chart. That is 23 consecutive albums. For a decade from 1971 through 1981 eight consecutive albums hit #1. In addition the band have released 22 top 10 pop hit singles.
