It has shown up a day early, but that doesn't diminish the impact. Due to a mistaken early web release, Katy Perry has put the music video for "Wide Awake" into wide release. In the course of the clip she bids goodbye to childhood, confronts her failed Prince Charming, and embraces her massively successful career as a pop star. The clip was directed by Tony T. Datis who is known for his work with Skrillex. Like the song "Wide Awake," the music video has an elegant, mature feel that moves it a step ahead some of Katy Perry's biggest hits of the past. The song is currently in the top 20 and rising at mainstream pop and adult pop radio and has entered the top 40 on the dance chart. Check out "Wide Awake," the music video, below.
