Maroon 5 have climbed as high as #2 on the UK pop singles chart in the past with both "Makes Me Wonder" and "Moves Like Jagger," but a #1 hit has evaded them...until now. As of mid week numbers, their new single "Payphone" was outselling the #2 "Call My Name" by Cheryl (Cole) by a 2 to 1 margin. Overall, Maroon 5 has four previous top 10 pop hits in the UK. An irony in "Payphone" hitting #1 is that thus far it has missed the top spot in the US peaking at #2. Both "Makes Me Wonder" and "Moves Like Jagger" were #1 hits in the US.
