Dance Diva Loleatta Holloway Dies At Age 64

She will be best remembered by pop fans for her booming sampled vocals on Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's massive 1991 #1 pop single "Good Vibrations." It included segments of Loleatta Holloway's vocals from the 1980 #1 dance hit "Love Sensation." However, she was also a star dance music diva for more than 20 years hitting the top of the dance charts providing vocals for Dan Hartman's 1979 classic "Relight My Fire," uncredited vocals on Black Box's "Ride On Time," and with her own dance smash "Shout To the Top" from 1998. Sadly, one of the most stunning voices in dance pop has been stilled. Loleatta Holloway died of a heart attack yesterday at the age of 64.
