Last night, as often happens on American Idol, the most memorable performance was the one which closed the show. Since being named a finalist, 20 year old Haley Reinhart has struggled to present a consistent identity in performance. However, with her performance of Elton John's "Bennie and the Jets," all of the pieces seemed to fall in place. She was sweetly sultry and sexy, and when it came time to start belting words the huskiness in her voice that has brought comparisons to Janis Joplin was fully evident. If Haley Reinhart can hold on to this style of performance, she may yet go a long way in the competition.
