Davy Jones was the biggest teen hearthrob of all members of the Monkees. Vocally, he is best remembered for his lead on "Daydream Believer." Davy Jones died in his sleep of a massive heart attack this morning, according to his publicist. He was 66. Due to his small stature, standing 5 ft. 3 inches, Davy Jones trained as a jockey as a teenager. However, he was encouraged by his trainer to pursue an acting and singing career. He appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show with the Broadway cast of Oliver! the same night as the Beatles made their legendary first appearance. At the age of 20 Davy Jones was hired to be part of the TV based pop group the Monkees, and his part in pop music history was sealed.
