Dia Frampton and Javier Colon Battle Neck and Neck For Victory In The Voice

Looking at the results of sales of last night's original song performances on iTunes this morning it looks like Dia Frampton has the edge in the race for being the first winner of NBC's hit music competition show The Voice. She is sitting at #1 on the iTunes digital singles chart with her song "Inventing Shadows," but Javier Colon is just behind with "Stitch By Stitch." The iTunes sales count in the final equation of determining the winner, but fan votes, which can be unpredictable, count as well. Although sales of the finalists' duets with their mentors do not count in determining a winner, they could possibly be seen as an influence on votes by those at home. Looking at those sales only muddies the picture because Javier Colon leads on duet sales. His "Man In the Mirror" with mentor Adam Levine was resting at #11 when last checked, while Dia Frampton's performance of "I Won't Back Down" with her mentor Blake Shelton sat at #15. While a victory by Vicci Martinez or Bev McClellan is possible, it seems unlikely as their performances trail the top two significantly on iTunes.
