Eminem's Recovery Is First Album To Sell Over One Million Digital Copies, and Adele Will Follow In Less Than Half the Time

Eminem's smash hit album Recovery has become the first to sell over one million digital copies in the United States. According to SoundScan, the collection crossed the one million barrier this week. It has sold a grand total of 3.9 million copies when other formats including CDs are counted. It took just a little over a year for Recovery to reach this milestone, and it comes more than five years after Gwen Stefani's hit "Hollaback Girl" became the first single to sell a million digital copies.
